Original vintage embroidered cloth patch for Cardinal Stage Lines Inc., an intercity bus and motor coach company operating in the American Plains during the early–mid 20th century. The design features a red cardinal bird perched on a branch with the company name in script lettering. Cardinal Stage Lines was active by the early 1930s and operated routes primarily through Kansas and Nebraska, including connections toward Denver and Kansas City. The company later became associated with Santa Fe Trail Transportation, itself tied to the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway system. Pieces bearing the Cardinal Stage Lines name are scarce
