1924 FIFTH AVENUE COACH Horse Wheel Pin STEEL STAMPING DIE Robbins RBX364 NY BUS From the archives of The Robbins Co of Attleboro, MA, this listing is for an antique steel stamping die used to make a ⅜” diameter pin or applique for the Fifth Avenue Coach Association. Fifth Avenue Coach operated buses in New York City in the late 19th and early 20th Century. The die is dated December 1924 on the side and the Robbins Company ledger book (see scan) for this S/N B2980 shows it was made for the Fifth Avenue Coach Assn. The die has maximum dimensions approximately 1 3/16” x 2 7/16” x 1 ⅛” high. The die weighs 15 oz and the condition is Excellent. Please look at all the photos and ask any questions. Eastern California “auto stage” travel history. Very good, used condition. Cities on map include Sacramento, Auburn, Los Angeles, etc. Great, scarce piece of transportation history.
The reverse side features advertising for Hills, McLean & Haskins, Soda Fountain and Luncheonette. Research suggests that Hills, McLean & Haskins was located in Binghamton, New York though that is not noted on the card.
